What do you believe? Why do you believe it? Who is God and why does Jesus matter? These are the questions that every individual, throughout time and in every location, must answer. In fact, we all have an answer to each of these questions, whether we are conscious of them or not. Famous Christian author and theologian, A.W. Tozer, rightly states: “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”
This course introduces students to the basic foundations of Christian beliefs through certain principles of theology. Theology is the study of God and how he relates to humanity and creation. Therefore, the ultimate objective of this course is to discover and develop a deep communion with our loving Father, redeeming Savior, and empowering Holy Spirit. We will do this through study of selected doctrines, reading of scripture, and analysis of how Christians have applied these beliefs throughout history. This will be an interactive course with student participation in discussion and practical application of the material. Each week we will gather to study and seek “the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having our eyes and hearts enlightened” (Eph. 1:17-18).
